In teaching English there are many methods, procedures, approaches and the other strategies which are used to improve the students’ competence in English as a foreign language. But, by that all ways we use, there is just one purpose, it is to improve communicative competence in English. Here, we will discuss about teaching reading to develop reading skill. The Reading skill can improve our communicative competence in English, such as to improve our vocabulary, our writing skill, our spelling English, and our pronunciation. Before, we think that reading skill is not important in English learning. But, now we should know how many advantages in reading skill to improve our communicative competence in English.
