T: Today we are going to make a trip to one place. What place? You can tell me after solving some riddles and telling the topic of our lesson. Look at the screen.
1. It’s a piece of furniture that everyone is using at the moment except me (a chair).
2. Find behind a chair some picture. Show it, please. (a picture with Big Ben).
3. Read the words on the screen and choose the odd word (a bookshelf).
4. Now, tell me what people like doing to keep memories while travelling (taking photos).
5. Find a photo on the bookshelf. What city represented there? (London)

2. Students read the texts in their groups, then exchange their representatives and these representatives retell the text they’ve read.
3. Then change groups again and add more information. Complete the table with the information about two other palaces.
4. Look through your notes. Tick the statements J (St. Jame’s Palace), K (Kensington Palace), B (Buckingham Palace). (Ex. 4 p. 130)
4) Game station “Guess”
Work in teams. Play a guessing game. The speaker of each team says a few sentences about one of the places. The others must guess which place it is. Use the conversational formulas in your answers: I think…, In my opinion…, As far as I know…
Example: Speaker: It is the place where Queen Victoria was born.
Pupil A: I think, it’s Kensington Palace.

6. Homework. Write about any interesting place in London. Is it popular with many people? Why?
