Тема: Мас-медіа. Ціна слави ( The Media. The Price of Fame).
Мета:
Практична: удосконалювати навички вживання діалогічного та монологічного мовлення;
Освітня: розширити знання про Мас Медіа (радіо та телебачення, пресу);
Розвивальна: розвивати вміння вживати вивчену лексику, критичне мислення, швидкість реакції, розвивати фонетичний слух;
Виховна: виховувати повагу до людей, до їх інтересів та особистого життя.
Обладнання: аудіозаписи, картки, ілюстрації.

Хід уроку
1. Організаційна частина.
Today we will continue to talk about the media, fame and famous people. We’ll do some grammar, lexical and phonetic revision.
2. Фонетинча розминка.
Now I would like everyone imagine yourself a journalist. Interview your partners and then tell about them.
What kind of person are you?
A tea person – a coffee person
A morning person – an evening person
A mountain person – a valley person
A jungle person – a town person
An indoor person – an outdoor person
A garden person – a forest person
A straight person – a loops and curver person
A sight person – a sound person

I know you’ve prepared the news from all over the world.
What areas of the world are in the news at the moment?
Why? Tell the class. (Children tell the news, using Passive Voice)

Rewrite these sentences, using the passive. Leave out the doer the action.

Now I would like you to practice your vocabulary (card 2)
(one group has some words and the other has the definitions of these words)
Read the words and their definitions in turn, please.
1. Celebrity – a famous person.
2. Soup opera – a set of television programs at the same times each week telling stories about the lives of ordinary people in a particular place.
3. Fan – a keen supporter.
4. Mass Media – radio, TV, newspapers.
5. The press – journalist and photographers.
6. Current affairs – information about what is happening in the political and economic world.
7. A fame – the condition being well known.

I think these people are well-known for you. Look at the photos and say, what do you know about the lives of the people in the photos?
1. Princess Diana
2. Marilyn Monroe
3. John Kennedy
4. John Lennon
(Students tell some information what they have prepared)
Even after death these people are famous.
Did they pay the price of their fame?
Students: everything in our life has the price.
What price? Sometimes it can be a life.
7. Аудіювання (Listening)
1. Now you are going to listen to the radio program about fame and price for it. Complete the notes which summarise what the speaker is saying.
Before you listen, read the questions. Try to guess possible answers.
Don’t worry if you don’t understand everything.
Concentrate on the important words.
Ex. 3 p.50.
1. Rudolf Valentino was a very popular ______________.
2. Celebrities have become more important with __________.
3. Stars can make a lot of money from ____________.
4. Famous people can’t escape from __________.
5. John Lennon was killed by one his __________.
6. Many stars experience ________ and live a ________.
2. Listen to five sentences from the radio program again and repeat them. Let us listen to the recording through the headphones.
1. Tonight we’re going to look at fame.
2. You’ve just written a book.
3. Fame’s not just a modern thing.
4. Celebrities become more bigger with today’s mass media.
5. What are the advantages of the fame?
Listen again and write down all the words. How many words are in each sentences? Contractions count as two words.

8. Підсумок уроку
1. Nevertheless, everyone dreams to be famous. Sometimes our dreams come true, sometimes not. Our students have prepared the play “Cinderella”. And our guests maybe can see famous future actors. The play is by Ronald Dohl.
